WonderWorks has joined forces with NASA to showcase a unique exhibit about the incredible science of astronomy and the planets as NASA prepares for their Journey to Mars! This temporary exhibit will provide guests with a glimpse into NASA’s upcoming expedition, as well as the opportunity to meet a real astronaut! What to Expect
The new SLS and Orion will launch a solo mission without occupants from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center in 2018. The spacecraft will eventually take astronauts deeper into space than ever before and help to improve life on Earth with new economic opportunities and technologies. The Journey to Mars exhibit at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge will feature life size models of these space crafts as well as a virtual reality trip to Mars where you can experience the SLS and Orion up close and personal! All of the exhibits will be manned by NASA staff who will be delighted to answer any of your questions. To take the event truly out of this world, Saturday guests can meet NASA’s own Captain Robert “Hoot” Gibson, who will be posing for photos, signing autographs and giving presentations.
Dates, Times and Location
NASA’s Journey to Mars exhibit at WonderWorks runs from Thursday, October 5, 2017, and runs through Sunday, October 8, 2017. Captain Gibson will be at WonderWorks on Saturday, October 7 from 11am to 4pm. WonderWorks is open daily from 10am to 9pm, so get there early on Saturday to kick off this exciting intergalactic weekend! WonderWorks is located at 100 Music Road in Pigeon Forge and plenty of free parking is available in the parking lot in front of the building.
Admission Information
Guests who purchase any ticket combo to WonderWorks will have the chance to visit with Captain Gibson and view the NASA exhibits, as well as the rest of the amazing permanent exhibits at WonderWorks!
