Ogle Brothers General Store may be the new kid on the block but they’re already winning guests over left and right as well as creating chatter on the reviews and social media accounts. Maybe you’ve already been or maybe you’ve never even heard of the store yet, either way, we wanted to fill you in on a few facts and some details on what you’ll find during your visit.
Family, Tradition and Hospitality
Ogle Brothers General Store was created by our owners as a part of their mission to pay homage to their family and the Five Oaks property. In the 1920’s Dr. John W. Ogle and his wife Blanche purchased the property that our hotel and the general store sit on today. Since that time, the Ogle family have lived, played, and worked on the land. All recent additions to the property have been added as a way to continue on their family tradition of hospitality and the family values that run deep in their roots here in the Smokies.
There’s Always Something Yummy for Your Tummy
There’s no lack of deliciousness in the Ogle Brothers General Store. From old fashioned candies, fresh baked cookies, truffles made daily, a variety of sauces, mixes, local coffee, and beyond. You’ll find plenty of treats for you and to take back home to your loved ones.
Hands Full of Clay, Heart Full of Creativity
One of the best experiences at the general store is watching Jason Gore create his beautiful pottery onsite. You can purchase his stunning handcrafted pottery at any time but try to catch him while he’s in-house and you’ll certainly be inspired by his gifts and love for his craft.

Ogle Brothers General Store is packed from one corner to the other with some of the most unique and fantastic gifts that we’ve seen here in the Smokies. And, they’re always adding new products. The staff do an excellent job of keeping up with seasonal displays and there’s always a wide variety of gifts to purchase for any occasion. You’ll find Cruze Farm Dairy and their amazing ice cream, live music on certain days, rocking chairs for relaxing and even giant porch swings that include a beautiful view of the Smoky Mountains. In the future, they’ll be holding events and festivals as well as other great opportunities that will allow you to truly immerse yourself in the charm and spirit of the Ogle family and the Great Smoky Mountains.
