Winterfest Pigeon Forge 2012 has an incredible array of over five million twinkling electric lights that envelope every bush, tree, pole, and building in the quaint town. The event is ideal for those looking for a last minute special holiday getaway that is sure to awaken feelings of nostalgia for the season. This year’s event, running from November 6, 2012 through February 28, 2013, marks the 23rd anniversary of Winterfest in Pigeon Forge. One of the best ways to experience the holiday splendor is a trip on the Winterfest Trolly Tour of Lights. The fun-filled ride features great views of the spectacular luminaries and holiday-themed decorations. Passengers can embark on their journey from the heart of downtown Pigeon Forge in Patriot Park, the site of the Pigeon Forge Trolley Station. The Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights is scheduled from November 6, 2012 through December 31, 2012.

Once of most dramatic wintry events offered is the Annual Professional Ice Carving Competition. Master professional ice carvers from around the world create awe-inspiring ice sculptures in front of a live audience at the competition. The image of snow flurries cascading from the bow of a replica of the HMS Titanic is a truly unique experience. This can be enjoyed at another Winterfest Pigeon Forge 2012 activity, held at the Titanic Museum Experience. The one-of-a-kind attraction designed after the ill-fated ocean liner celebrates the holiday season with weekly real snow flurries. The attraction also has a special holiday fireworks extravaganza.

Another popular Winterfest Pigeon Forge 2012 event, running from December 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012, is seeing the decorations at The Christmas Place. The sprawling Bavarian style shops, nestled in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, celebrates the season in style all year long offering all that you need to turn your own home into a Christmas celebration. Beside the Christmas Place shops is The Partridge and Pear Tree Restaurant offering Christmas special dinners everyday along with a wide variety of meals to please the entire families’ taste buds.

The Santa Hustle is a Winterfest Pigeon Forge 2012 event that combines a race with holiday festivities. The five kilometer race is a competition themed after one of the most iconic holidays of the year. Runners depart from the rustic Wilderness Lodge and race through the stunning forests and mountains as they compete to be the first to cross the finish line. Winterfest has something for every visitor to help get into the holiday spirit from the twinkling lights, a variety of Christmas shows, and shopping.
