A Diverse Collection
The RainForest Zoo specializes in animals that you have never seen before. The zoo’s impressive collection contains animals on loan from zoos across America and was themed by one of the world’s leading zoological contractors. Most of the zoo’s animals were born or hatched in captivity.
Mammals
Have you ever heard of a coatimundi? These adorable animals behave like a mix between a raccoon and a monkey. Indigenous to Central and South America, these clever critters are some of the most popular animals at the RainForest Zoo. Another highlight of the zoo is the Black and White Ruffed Lemur. Madagascar is the only place in the world that these endangered lemurs can be found.
Birds
The RainForest Zoo is also home to a wide variety of tropical birds. The African Grey Parrot is one of the smartest species of birds in the world. They have been known to have a vocabulary of over 100 words! Another major attraction at the zoo are the zebra finches. Native to Australia, these tiny birds get their calcium from eating egg shells in the wild.
